FAQ- Lace Wigs

100% Real human hair lace front wigs come in different varities and styles. Raw Virgin European Hair is the best quality worldwide, however, it’s extremely expensive and very hard to maintain and even obtain. Also, European hair can be very fragile to colour. Most Raw Virgin hair wigs start at £1,000. Virgin and Remy are the next best and these are what most good wig suppliers will sell. All our wigs are High grade Remy Human Hair with all cuticles in check. Also, they are the best to colour as well because the hair is stronger.

A lace wig is a wig made with a lace net material. The lace is needed because this is where the hair is knotted ( sewn onto). There are 3 main types of lace wigs on the market: A lace frontal, a closure wig or a full lace wig. A lace frontal wig, allows you to part the hair anywhere across the front of the hair. A closure wig usually allows for parting in the centre and the side. A full lace wig can be parted anywhere across the whole head as it does not have anywhere wefts ( tracks) unlike a closure and frontal wig. All Miss Mama Wigs are 100% real human hair.

Ok, so the lace looks more intimidating than it actually is. You simply cut around the hairline in a jagged / zig zag formation from ear to ear. If you’re very uncertain, go onto Youtube and type in ‘how to cut a lace frontal on a wig’ — they’ll be many babes offering their good knowledge.

You can use styling tools on the wigs. Please use low heat and do not over use as it can affect the longevity of the hair.

We only offer a refund if there is a genuine fault with the product. The wigs are all custom made to order, including “ready to ship wigs”. The wigs take between 6-12 hours to complete therefore, we cannot offer refunds. Also, we have to adhere to laws which state sanitary items such as wigs should not really be refunded. Wigs can be worn glueless with clips and a band attached or with tape. Alternatively, you can gel or glue down the wig. No way is better than the other, it’s all about personal preference. Bold Hold Glue OR Ghost Bond which can be purchased from amazon or ebay is good for a waterproof hold lasting 1-2weeks. Gel, such as Got2Be is also good for glueing frontals down and lasts about for 24 hours. Furthermore, you can use tape, combs, clips or a wig grip to wear the wig.

If looked after correctly and wearing on a non regular basis, the real human hair wigs can last a couple years. If wearing daily, the wigs tend to last anywhere from 6-15 months. Of course, this is a guideline and we do expect clients to take the care in looking after their wig and also following our recommendations in terms of care products and maintenance routine.

Real hair wigs do need caring for, therefore investing in a head block such as a polystyrene head is a good way of displaying your wig. Alternatively, I tend to lie the wigs flat in a spacious drawer.
